Volunteering With Us

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas (BGCSCK). Volunteers play a vital role in advancing our mission by strengthening programs, supporting operations, and expanding our impact across the communities we serve.

By contributing your time, talents, and expertise, you help create safe, welcoming, and enriching environments where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.

Volunteers may support academic success, mentor members, assist with program activities, contribute to special events and fundraising efforts, or help with facility improvement projects. No matter the role, your involvement makes a meaningful difference.

Individual Opportunities

Individual volunteers work directly with youth and have recurring contact with members - defined as more than one interaction within 180 days. This opportunity is ideal for those who are passionate about mentoring, education, or youth development.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support academic success through tutoring or homework help
  • Engage with members during after-school programs
  • Provide encouragement, guidance, and positive role modeling

Commitment:

  • Minimum of one hour per week
  • Consistent schedule (same day and time each week/month)

Process:
To ensure the safety and well-being of our members, all individual volunteers must complete the following steps prior to working with youth:

  • Inquiry
  • Application
  • Interview
  • Reference Checks
  • Background Check ($20 fee)
  • Orientation & 2–4 hours of required safety training

All volunteers must pass national criminal and misdemeanor background checks, as well as a national sex offender registry screening.

Get Started:

To begin the process of becoming an individual volunteer, please contact the Area Director for the community where you are interested in serving:
