Volunteering With Us
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas. Volunteers make a tremendous difference in the lives of youth at our area Clubs and are vital to the success of our programs and special events.
Club Program Volunteers work with individuals or small groups after-school to help members meet academic goals and be positive support during educational programs.
Commitment: Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 2 hours weekly and will be asked to provide availability for the same day & time each month.
Requirements: Each BGCSCK volunteer has to go through an interview process and professional references have to be completed prior to the volunteer being accepted. Each volunteer is also required to complete 5-10 hours of Club Safety Training prior to being allowed to work with members.
Background Check: Each volunteer applicant are required to pay $20 for a background check. In order for a volunteer to be accepted, the volunteer must have a satisfactory outcome on national criminal and misdemeanor background checks, as well as checks against a national sexual offender registry which are conducted by the organization or organizations contracted with by the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas.
INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER APPLICATION
Group volunteer activities are great opportunities for companies, organizations, clubs, and schools who want to make a difference with our youth and help with a large one-time project or on a continuing basis (requires at least three weeks’ notice before scheduled date of project). There are many ways you can help - from collecting much needed items on our wish list, to completing one-time projects.
Boys & Girls Clubs of South Central Kansas prides itself on being a community resource for youth philanthropy and civic engagement. We are also a resource for students who are seeking internships to gain experience in non-profit administrative work and working directly with Club members through developing, planning and implementing youth programs.
If you are interested in a rewarding experience as a Club intern and want to help maintain a positive, outcome-driven Club experience for the children and youth we serve annually, please contact our VP of People & Finance, at (316) 201-1890 or firstname.lastname@example.org about available opportunities and any questions.
